India Complete 3-0 Series Sweep of Afghanistan with 127-Run Rout in Delhi
India completed a 3-0 series sweep over Afghanistan, sealing the finale with a thumping 127-run win at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi — their most emphatic performance of the series.
Sent in to bat after Afghanistan won the toss, India were powered by an extraordinary innings from Abhishek Sharma, who smashed the fastest T20I century by an Indian batter — 108 off just 34 balls — laced with 9 fours and 11 sixes. Sanju Samson (50) provided able support in an 88-run opening stand, before India finished on 221/7.
Afghanistan never recovered from a top-order collapse, losing four wickets inside the powerplay for just 47. Nitish Kumar Reddy (3/25) and Ravi Bishnoi (3/26) shared six wickets between them as the innings folded for 94 in 14.1 overs.
With the win, India extend their dominant head-to-head record over Afghanistan in T20Is and head into the Asian Games on the back of a clean-sweep series victory.
