Smriti Mandhana Becomes Women's T20I All-Time Leading Run-Scorer

Smriti Mandhana became the leading run-scorer in women's T20I history during India's Asian Games 2026 semi-final against Bangladesh at Korogi Sports Park, surpassing New Zealand's Suzie Bates.

Mandhana went past Bates' tally of 4,758 runs, reaching the milestone in her 178th T20I, 15 innings fewer than Bates took to get there. The Indian opener struck a quickfire 37 off 19 balls, with five fours and two sixes, before falling attempting a slog sweep.

Mandhana now leads the format's all-time run charts with 4,765 runs, ahead of Bates, India's Harmanpreet Kaur (4,287), Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu (4,282) and New Zealand's Sophie Devine (3,817). She also holds the record for most half-centuries in women's T20Is, with 36.

The winner of India's semi-final against Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in Tuesday's gold-medal match, after Athapaththu's side beat Pakistan by eight wickets in the first semi-final earlier in the day.
