India Back at No. 1 in ICC Men's T20I Rankings After Sealing Zimbabwe Series
India have returned to the top of the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings after sealing an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match series against Zimbabwe. The 90-run win in the 2nd T20I at the Harare Sports Club was enough to push India back above England, who had held the No. 1 spot since July 11.
India and England are locked on an identical rating of 268, but India's higher points tally, built over a larger sample of matches, edges them back to top spot. India had previously lost the No. 1 ranking after a 4-0 series defeat in England and a 2-0 series loss in Ireland earlier this year.
Below England, Australia (260) sit third, followed by New Zealand (247) and South Africa (244). Pakistan (240) and West Indies (234) round out the top seven, with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan completing the top ten.
India will look to complete a series whitewash in the dead-rubber 3rd T20I, with the rankings picture set to be reassessed after the next full series involving the top sides.
