Getafe Beat Sevilla 3-1 With Three Second-Half Goals as Manu Bueno Is Sent Off
Getafe beat Sevilla 3-1 at the Coliseum on Sunday, November 1, in a LaLiga Matchday 11 game. Sevilla led at half-time. Getafe then scored all three goals after the break. Sevilla midfielder Manu Bueno was sent off in stoppage time.
Sevilla went ahead in the 19th minute through Enrique Salas. They held a 1-0 lead at the break. Getafe were the side in need of points, and they came out stronger in the second half.
Enes Ünal levelled the score in the 68th minute. Martín Satriano put Getafe in front five minutes later, in the 73rd. Bueno was shown a red card in the first minute of stoppage time. Sevilla were down to ten men. Orel Mangala then made it 3-1 in the fourth minute of added time.
The result is a big one for Getafe. They started the day on 9 points from 10 games, at the bottom end of the table. The win takes them to 12 points from 11 games. Sevilla stay on 17 points from 11 games with a record of five wins, two draws and four defeats.
Getafe had not beaten Sevilla often in recent years. They had won just once in their previous six meetings. Last season, Getafe won 2-1 in Seville. Sevilla then won 1-0 at the Coliseum in February, against a ten-man Getafe side.
Both teams came into the game after a busy week. Getafe lost 4-0 at Athletic Club on October 25. They then beat UB Lebrijana 3-2 in the first round of the Copa del Rey on October 29. Before that, they lost 5-2 to Lugano in the Conference League on October 22.
Sevilla had won their last two games. They beat Osasuna 2-0 in LaLiga on October 26. They also won 3-0 at Sporting Hortaleza in the Copa del Rey on October 29. Their last league loss came at Real Madrid, where they went down 4-1 on October 18.
Getafe now travel to Villarreal on November 8. They then host Atlético Madrid on November 22.
