Mbappé Penalty and Goals From Bellingham and Diomande Give Real Madrid 3-0 Win at Racing Santander

Real Madrid beat Racing Santander 3-0 at El Sardinero on Sunday, November 1, in a LaLiga Matchday 11 game. Kylian Mbappé scored a penalty in the 11th minute. Jude Bellingham and Yan Diomande added the other two goals. All three goals came before half-time. It was Real Madrid's sixth win in a row.

The penalty came after ten minutes. Mbappé was fouled inside the box, and the referee pointed to the spot straight away. Racing goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala guessed the right way, but the shot was too powerful for him. Racing nearly levelled soon after. Iker Luque hit a shot that looked destined for the net, but Thibaut Courtois made a fine save.

Bellingham scored the second goal before the break. Diomande then hit a thumping volley for the third. Real Madrid went into half-time 3-0 up.

The win keeps Real Madrid in the title race. They have 27 points and are third in the table. They are one point behind Atlético Madrid and three behind leaders Barcelona. Racing stay 16th on 11 points, with three wins, two draws and six defeats.

Racing came into the game unbeaten at home. They had won three and drawn two of their five games at El Sardinero, scoring 11 goals. That run ended here. Real Madrid also played without the suspended Vinícius Júnior.

Mbappé arrived with 11 league goals and two assists in ten games. He had scored in four straight games and hit two goals in the Clásico win at Camp Nou last week.

That Clásico was part of the winning run. Real Madrid won 2-1 at Camp Nou. The run also includes a 4-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

The visit had its own history. Real Madrid last played a league game at El Sardinero in September 2011. That match finished 0-0. José Mourinho was the coach then, as he is now. Racing last beat Real Madrid in LaLiga on April 14, 2007, with two Garay penalties. Real Madrid had won nine of the last ten meetings.

This was the first of three away games before the next international break.
