Paris FC Beat Monaco 3-1 as Folarin Balogun Ends Goal Drought Off the Bench

Paris FC beat Monaco 3-1 at the Stade Jean-Bouin on Sunday, November 1, in a Ligue 1 Matchday 9 game. Lassine Sinayoko scored twice in the first half. Monaco forward Folarin Balogun pulled one back in the second half. It was his first goal of the 2026-27 league season. Pablo Pagis then sealed the win for Paris FC.

Paris FC took control before half-time. Sinayoko scored in the 38th minute and again in the 44th. He also set up a goal in the match. Paris FC were 2-0 up at the break and had been far more dangerous than Monaco.

Monaco made changes at half-time. Balogun came on for Paris Brunner. He needed only about 20 minutes to make an impact. Vanderson crossed, and Balogun scored in the 66th minute to make it 2-1. Soon after, he tested Paris FC goalkeeper Kevin Trapp again. Trapp saved his left-footed effort in the 72nd minute.

Paris FC then scored their third. Pagis found the net in the 74th minute. That ended any hope of a Monaco comeback.

The goal ended a long wait for Balogun. It was his first since he scored for the United States in their World Cup last-32 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina in early July. He had a quiet start to the league season. Before this game, he had made just four league appearances, all from the bench. He had played only 114 minutes in total. He has not yet started a league game this season. His 45 minutes against Paris FC were his longest outing of the campaign. He is competing with Paris Brunner for a place up front.

The defeat is a worry for Monaco. They have now gone four league games in a row without a win. Balogun's goal is a small positive for a team that is trying to turn its season around.

For Paris FC, it was a big result. They moved up from sixth to fourth place. They are level on 17 points with third-placed Lyon, and they sit just behind them on goal difference. Paris FC are three points behind leaders PSG, who have 20 points.
