Sakshi Chaudhary Stuns Olympic Medallist Villegas to Reach Pre-Quarters

Sakshi Chaudhary produced a dominant performance to beat Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medallist Aira Villegas of the Philippines by a unanimous 5-0 decision in the women's 51kg round of 32 at the 2026 Asian Games.

The Commonwealth Games gold medallist controlled the bout from the opening bell at Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium. Four judges scored it 30-27 and one scored 30-26 in her favour.

Sakshi advances to a high-profile pre-quarterfinal clash against Kazakhstan's reigning world champion Alua Balkibekova.
